With David M. Lobenstine, LMT from Body Brain Breath

David M. Lobenstine, L.M.T., is a massage therapist, writer, and teacher. Born and raised in New York City, he graduated from Vassar College and then from the Swedish Institute. He sees clients at Full Breath Massage in Manhattan. And he develops and teaches continuing education courses, both in person and online. Forearm Massage: Save Your Hands & Your Career

Continue doing great work without taxing the delicate joints of the hand and increase career longevity. Learn to give a full body massage using the forearms as the primary tool. These techniques can be used for both deep tissue work and light circulatory massage. This workshop will cover body mechanics, how to use body weight to engage tissue, depth of pressure, speed of strokes and developing sensitivity in the forearms, as well as forearm massage techniques in prone, supine and side-lying position. Simple Qi Gong exercises to encourage better body mechanics will also be taught.

Saturday Only Workshop:

Seva Stress Relief for Self and Others-3 or 6 CEUs

AM: 9:30-12:30. PM: 2:30-5:30.  Lunch is included if registering for both sessions.

With Angelique Priscilla, from Soul Lightening Acupressure

In Sanskrit, the word Seva means selfless, compassionate service.

In this workshop participants learn about the healing and transforming power of acupressure, practice techniques to use for self-care, and take home skills they can use for the rest of their life.

This method of acupressure can be self-administered, or given to another person who is seated or lying down. The receiver stays fully clothed and finds a comfortable resting place. There are 15 specific points on the body that are accessed in order, with firm but gentle finger pressure. The session begins and ends with a full body stretch, and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
