AMTA-Vermont Committees

Both short-term and standing committees are the center of action in the Chapter. In this day and age of fast-paced living and crowded schedules, people need bite-sized tasks and short-term projects to feel ready to volunteer. So, in addition to the traditional committees described below, the chapter board identified a list of 10 ways to help the chapter. The board hopes this will make volunteering simpler and more appealing to busy members. Those interested in working on a committee or any of the work on the list should contact the Chapter office at 802-552-1200 or via email at amta.vt.pres@gmail.com.

Education Committee

The Education Committee makes recommendations to the Chapter Board of Directors for presenters at chapter educational events, recruits and communicates with potential presenters, and ensures that all educational presenters and events meet AMTA’s high standard. The Education Committee plans and implements the Chapter conference, working closely with the Board and the Conference Event Planner. A conference is a one or more day long event designated as such by the Chapter Board and may include, but not be limited to one or more of the following: continuing education, meals, entertainment, exhibitors, and the Board of Directors meeting. Currently, the chapter holds the AMTA-Vermont Conference & Annual Meeting in November, and may offer additional educational events throughout the year across the state.

Interest in teaching at one of these events or have you taught for AMTA before? Please reach out and contact the Committee Chair at amta.vt.education@gmail.com with information on the course you wish to teach. We would love to hear from you!

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is a vital element of the Vermont Chapter as it facilitates communication between the other committees and work groups and serves as a bridge between members and AMTA. The primary goals of the committee are to encourage and maintain membership by promoting the benefits of AMTA and to recruit chapter volunteers. This is accomplished in several ways such as conducting school visits, hosting local Meet-Ups and communicating with members via phone calls, emails and social media.
The success of our chapter is attributed to our members especially those who volunteer. There are several areas and committees to serve and volunteers are connected to the committee or work group that best suits their interests.
